We are happy to announce that John Mackall was called unanimously at the MMBA Annual Meeting to serve as the new DOM of the MMBA.
John will serve concurrently with our present DOM, Larry Steen, through January 1, 2023, at which time Larry will retire and John will take over completely.
John Mackall is the current and founding pastor of CrossLife Community Church in Elkridge, Maryland. John, and his wife Michelle, were the last group of Nehemiah Church planters sent out by NAMB In 2002. In 2002, John worked alongside Heartland Church in preparation for the launch of CrossLife in 2003. In addition to pastoring CrossLife, John has been active in denomination life. He has served two terms on MMBA’s On Mission Council, worked as a church planting assessor and coach, and currently serves on BCMD’s General Mission Board and Executive Committee. Missions has always been a focus for John, with efforts in the Dominican Republic, disaster relief as part of an Associational team, and within his local community. John is thankful for the joined efforts with multiple churches in the Association for outreach and mission efforts and understands the impact being part of an Association can have for Kingdom growth.
In his spare time, John enjoys fishing, kayaking, biking, swimming, and triathlons. John and Michelle have been married just shy of 33 years and have been blessed with four children, and recently, a granddaughter. Michelle has worked for both the Association and the State Convention and currently works for Howard County Public School System. She has a passion to support and encourage pastors’ wives.
