Disaster Relief Trainings

When disaster strikes, trained volunteers make the difference. BCM/D Disaster Relief equips ordinary people to bring help, hope, and the love of Christ to communities in crisis.

Disaster Relief Training at First Baptist Church, Upper Marlboro – March 14, 2026

Classes offered:

  • Introduction: Everything you need to know about why and how DR does what it does. 
  • Feeding: Learn to safely prepare and serve large quantities of food in the event of a disaster.
  • Flood Recovery: Receive training in mud-out, debris removal, tear-out, and safe work practices with a strong emphasis on situational awareness.
  • Be equipped. Be Ready.

Disaster Relief Training at Covenant Church, Shepherdstown WV – April 11, 2026

This training will include classes on Damage Assessment, Administration, Safety, Flood Recovery, and Feeding.

ServSafe Training at Redland – Signups – Redland Baptist Church 

  • Food handler 2.5 Hr. Course – March 15 
  • Food handler 2.5 Hr. Course – March 22
  • ServSafe Manager – Split Class (2) 4 Hr. Courses – April 25 and May 2
    • Must attend both to be a ServSafe manager, unless only testing
    • Test only must attend Day 2

Wilderness First Aid

Alan Caho is running a Wilderness and Remote First Aid class in Prince George’s County that interested SBDR folks can attend for free. Flyer attached.
