In our latest On Mission Council meeting it was our joy to interview Rev. Kyo Man Cho of God’s Vision Church and to welcome his congregation into the watchcare of our Association. The church is a Southern Baptist Korean congregation of about 20 members, and was founded by Brother Cho three years ago as a part of the Montgomery Association. The church meets in Ellicott City and voted to become a part of the MMBA based on the members’ locale. We all extend a hearty WELCOME to GVC and look forward to next year’s annual meeting when we can officially vote the church into our Association membership.

The OMC also approved a Strengthening Churches grant to Bethany Church for it’s upcoming Christmas Festival. This is a highly creative community outreach event designed to create relationships with lost and unchurched neighbors, community leaders and local business leaders. Last year’s event touched 167 new families that had never previously attended a worship event at Bethany.

In still another action, the OMC approved a matching $5,000 grant in 2019 to Rolling Hills Baptist Church in a partnership with FBC Laurel, to bring in a pastoral intern with the ultimate goal of planting a new church at the RHBC site.

We ask your prayers for these churches and the exciting new ventures they are undertaking.
