A New Year’s Message From Your New Director of Missions

On behalf of all the MMBA churches and the On Mission Council of our Association, I want to thank brother Gary Glanville for the superb job he has done this past year as our interim Director of Missions. Gary, we have all been blessed by your encouragement, your counsel and your caring for the ministers and churches of our association. We are confident that God has some super ministry opportunities in store for you with your new residency in Delaware.

It is my joy and privilege to represent the Mid Maryland Baptist Association as your new Director of missions. I believe God’s Kingdom is well served when churches network together in ministry rather than work solely in isolation. I look forward to being a part of strengthening the bonds of fellowship and ministry, mutual assistance and encouragement within our association to advance the gospel of Jesus Christ. I ask your prayers for me in this new endeavor.

After 34+ years as Pastor of the Westminster Baptist Church, I am enjoying, as of January 1st, three weeks of “retirement” before I begin my official duties as your new DOM. I am grateful to  WBC for the love, encouragement, support and partnership in the gospel shown to me and my family down through these many years of ministry, and for their prayers as I begin this new chapter in ministry. (By the way, I heartily recommend any church planning the celebration of a pastor’s upcoming retirement, to take some “how to” lessons from Westminster Baptist. They did it up right! I’d be glad to share with you what they did!)

I look forward to the first OMC meeting and Ministers’ luncheon of the New Year which will be at, (appropriately enough) Westminster Baptist, on Jan 23. The OMC meeting will be at 10, the luncheon at noon. I eagerly await seeing you all there!

Please register below to make sure we have enough food!
